Independent Schools Victoria supports Member Schools through the Victorian Government’s Developing Resilience funding, ensuring that students develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will allow them to establish and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The Developing Resilience Program incorporates funding from the Suicide Prevention Program.
Schools wishing to access funding in 2016 will be asked to submit a proposal based on the school’s notional grant that will support an initiative that helps to build resilience in students. Schools will be informed of their notional grant early in 2016 and applications will be due in Term 1 2016. The program must focus on primary prevention and early intervention strategies rather than day-to-day crisis management. The funding criteria is based on the Victorian Government’s Framework for Student Support Services.
In addition, Independent Schools Victoria provides professional learning so that schools can implement initiatives to create and maintain a safe supporting learning environment for their students.
