Do you need to comply?
Yes, if your school is delivering Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) they need to ensure that they are following compliance procedures of the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) and/or the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA).
Conditions of compliance
This supplementary funding is allocated to Independent schools whose students are involved in a Vocational Education and Training (VET) program, which could be delivered to students by
Auspicing the program. An arrangement that a school can make with an RTO for the delivery of a VET program
Some schools may be Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and the delivery could occur by using their own Scope of Registration.
Funding is also used to support activities such as:
the establishment of VETiS in schools as a new initiative.
expanding the range and spread of VETiS courses
the establishment of VETiS courses in industry skill shortage areas
encouraging particular student cohorts to participate in VETiS enveloping strategies to maintain quality standards in VETiS, including professional learning
increasing the focus on pathways that leads to School Based Apprenticeships, particularly in skill shortage areas.
Funding is based on confirmed student enrolments, as at Enrolment Date 2 using the Victorian Assessment Software System (VASS) data.
If you have to comply, what do you have to do?
If a school wishes to receive funding, what do they need to do? Confirm student enrolments on the VASS system as at Enrolment Date 2
Provide data, including funding information as required by the Commonwealth Government, and/or Independent Schools Victoria in order to meet accountability requirements
Participate in any evaluation project/s relating to the funding
Use the funding only for the purposes of the approved projects in the funding calendar yearAgree to host visits from Australian Government and/or Independent Schools Victoria representatives as required
provide Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) hours as requested by Independent Schools Victoria.
What are the consequences if you don’t comply?
You may be required to return any funding received.
