Dr Vivianne Nikou, Principal, Alphington Grammar School
Since 2013, Dr Vivianne Nikou has been Principal at Alphington Grammar School, a non-denominational co-educational ELC to Year 12 culturally inclusive Independent school. Her main focus over 40 years working in education has been to enhance cross-cultural understanding of young people.
Vivianne spent 21 years at Caulfield Grammar School, where the school grew to five campuses, including the establishment of a residential experiential campus in Nanjing, China.
Alongside running her own businesses in the retail and hospitality sector, she also has eight years’ corporate experience with Slade Partners, holding the position of General Manager, Education Government and Health, providing consultancy work to universities, schools and government departments across Australia leading a team of seven consultants.
Under her leadership, Alphington Grammar School has embarked on an ambitious building program involving a new staff recreational and conference centre, a new STEM building, refurbished library and an impressive entrance, student hub and amenities block.
Vivianne has had extensive curriculum and pastoral experience in schools and as a Director of Adult Education. She has worked continuously in the area of multicultural exchanges, promoting cultural experiences in Australia and overseas, with partnerships established in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, China, Turkey, Greece and Vietnam.
