Gus Seremetis is the CEO of Cire Services, which encompasses Cire Community School, Cire Children’s Services, Cire Training, and Cire In Home Care.
Cire Community School is in its third year of operation and began by offering VCAL in two campuses for students who have experienced barriers to learning and are seeking alternative education. Cire has recently expanded to include years 7 to 10, with a key focus on wellbeing and individual specialised services.
Gus has held a number of executive positions throughout her career, and for the last twenty years, has worked closely with disengaged youth. She believes that every individual deserves the same opportunity to learn and fulfil their aspirations, regardless of their circumstances or background, and that education instils confidence and leads to independence.
Gus has held board positions with Kalparrin Early Childhood Intervention Centre, and more recently, Kidsafe Victoria. Throughout her career, she has volunteered her services to various not-for-profit organisations. Having had the opportunity work in an orphanage in Bali that focuses on education was an ‘experience of a lifetime’ and one that confirmed to her the importance of learning.
