Mark Torriero, Principal, Goulburn Valley Grammar School
In 2008, Mark Torriero was appointed Principal of Goulburn Valley Grammar School. Previously he worked in a diverse range of Independent schools in Victoria and Queensland.
Mark has led a whole-school focus on improving student learning growth through quality teaching. The school was an inaugural member of the University of Melbourne Network of Schools project from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, Mark participated in the Independent Schools Victoria (ISV) Futures of Learning program and is a member of the 2017 Leading Learning that Matters program run by ISV and the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
He is a Director of the Victorian Ecumenical System of Schools and was Chair from 2012-2013. He is a member of the Independent Country Coeducational Schools (ICCES) sporting and cultural association and is an ISV Board Member.
Mark recognises the critical role of all Independent schools in changing the lives of young people and building community, especially in rural and outer metropolitan settings.
