Independent Schools Victoria (ISV) is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for up to six Member Schools to participate in a program exploring the concept of Making Thinking Routine and Looking at Cognition in Action in classrooms.
Each routine is designed as a teacher resource. As with all Visible Thinking work, the materials are crafted to integrate thinking skills and dispositions with content learning, to both deepen and broaden the learning and to cultivate those skills and dispositions. ISV will research and track the impact of the Visible Thinking program in participating Member Schools.
This exciting initiative will provide Member Schools with resources and training to equip staff and students for rich learning experiences, reflections and interactions through using the following routines:
Exploring Complexity: thinking routines for investigating complex objects, systems, perspectives, controversies and more, across the disciplines.
Global Thinking: thinking routines fostering understanding and appreciation of today’s complex globalised world.
Pathways to Understanding: Developing Students’ Memory and Note Taking Skills: leverages contemporary understandings of how memory works to advance both memory for and understanding of content.
Portable Knowledge: helps learners transfer what they learn in particular subjects to other contexts and studies far and wide.
