Empowering Leadership for Continuous Learning in the Early Years
Independent Schools Victoria, in collaboration with Monash University, has designed a program to advance learning opportunities in the area of leadership and pedagogical practice for early years educators.
The course, for aspiring leaders in ELC to Year 2, is tailored to build the capacity of effective pedagogical leadership. It enhances the skills of knowing how to rationalise organisational dynamics pertaining to the learning objectives and goals of the said educational setting.
The program will strengthen and identify the levels of expertise in operation within the educational setting, seeking to foster adult learning and aspirations of collaboration through action research. By offering conceptual tools in annotating and exploring their approach to pedagogical documentation and understandings, the program will support the development of the aspiring leader whilst allowing the centre/school to unpack their narrative affecting their current educational climate.
Option for Accreditation
The program includes an accreditation component for participants who choose to undertake it. Successful completion of the module and associated assessment (8000 words spread across a minimum of two tasks) will provide them with eligibility to apply for credit points towards a Master of Education Degree within the Faculty of Education at Monash University, provided they meet the Monash University admission requirements and regulations regarding the granting of credit. All participants will receive a Monash University Certificate of Completion after successfully completing the program
